FAMILY TRACKING APP

A full product design cycle, from market analysis and user research to UX architecture and a conceptual UI proposal, delivering a location-sharing and family-tracking app that meets business goals, addresses user needs, and offers a seamless, intuitive experience.

This earlier project, created well before the AI era, reflects the design innovation of its time and highlights the importance of mastering foundational methodologies, a solid base upon which today’s more layered, AI-driven processes are built.

To lay the foundation for the product, I began with comprehensive research, first exploring the market landscape, then diving into user needs and behaviors.

Market Research

I analyzed direct competitors as well as similar products from other industries to identify opportunities and gaps.

User Research

I then conducted user research with five parents, two mothers and three fathers, to gain deeper insights into their habits, concerns, and expectations. This led me to define the target audience as parents of young children who already carry a mobile phone, a market segment typically aged 30 to 55.

key Challenges

  1. Encouraging users to register and add their children to the app.

  2. Driving user retention and ongoing engagement.

  3.  Motivating users not only to register and use the app, but also to set up “risk zones” so that if their children enter these areas, the tracking feature can send real-time alerts to the parents’ app.

UX Prototype

I created a UX prototype to test the product with real users, revealing what to emphasize, what to remove, and what must remain easily accessible, insights that guided a final design supporting clarity, usability, and core goals.

UI Design

As part of the project, I proposed a single design concept aimed at creating a soft, parent-friendly experience within an app that could otherwise feel stressful. The visual approach focused on warmth, calm tones, and approachable elements to help users feel supported and reassured throughout their journey.
